I grew up reading comic books. Not just reading them, though, I consumed them. I spent years following the flow of imagery within this graphic medium as a means of telling a story and was often fascinated by the artist and writer's ability to do so. Comic books are a true collaboration between two creators - I believe that photography has very similar merits. You, the subject, are the writer; with a story that needs to be told. I interpret your story and convey it through my vision in a photograph.
My passion for photography is often fueled by my interaction with my clients and subjects. I love meeting new people, and helping them find just that "thing" they're looking for - in photography, the moment - is truly a pleasure.
I am a people photographer, though I do shoot architecture and landscapes for much of my personal work, my primary business is done one-on-one, with families, individuals, and corporations.
Portraits can be a fun one-on-one collaboration in an office or home, or an exciting location-based family shoot. I like to take you out of a stale, studio and interact with our everyday environment to create situational imagery that compliments your needs. As a father to two young boys, I understand and allot time for the difficulties associated with some of my younger clients - often waiting out nap time to make sure we catch your entire family at their very best. My editorial work also feeds my passion for working with people, and my work is featured in publications like Capital Parent, Centre Ice, iRun, The Kitchissippi Times, Ottawa Magazine, and Ottawa Woman.
I have had the privilege of working with some highly regarded corporations and charitable foundations in Ottawa. My client list includes Canvaspop & DNA11, CIRA, McNally Gervan LLP, MediaStyle, The National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa Fringe Festival, Ottawa Marriott Hotel, RND Construction, Telus, Turnbull Design Consultants, and the Wellington West Business Association.
I crave photography at times, it's something I can't get enough of. No matter how many photos I take of my two young boys, Quinn and Alex, or try to take of my wife Melanie, I will work as hard as I ever have on your project. I want to tell stories; photography is my medium.
