Time: 10am – 7pm
Location: IdeaSpace 131 Bank Street, 4th floor
I’m happy to announce my next “Learn your Lights” photography lighting workshop that will be taking place April 12th 2014. Last year, students covered a variety of lighting techniques for photographers interested in creating compelling images using their camera-flash.
The workshop is a one-day intensive and is limited to
10 participants SOLD OUT
We start the day using available light, ambient light fixtures, and windows to help us understand how light travels, the different kinds of light, and how it affects your photos.
We quickly move into speedlights and various modifiers to create and shape the light to our creative needs.
Participants will have a chance to make photographs of their own if they wish. I believe in “learn by doing” and, while I do spend a lot of the day talking, it’s important you get some hands-on experience in dynamic (real-world) situations. A basic knowledge of your camera is recommended. Your camera must have a hot-shoe on the top to participate and owning a flash is not a requirement but is helpful.
We will have a model on-hand all day (well, a very pretty person at least). I photograph “real people” and I assume you will too. The workshop is $299+HST.
