Night Church

Night Church
Ba deee doop de dow… *(insert Night Court theme here)*.

I gleefully purchased my new tripod on Thursday and immediately started setting up shots around town. Though it was cold and windy so it wasn’t exactly the ideal weather for it, but I figure I need to start training for my Iceland trip by carrying my gear around.
The tripod is heavier than my tent.

Rear Window

Rear Window
Not to be mistake for Rear-door, this shot was taken the same day Attila’s from a few months ago. I didn’t want to post it at the same time because, not only am I intimidated by him and his talent, but I didn’t want to saturate our friends with pictures of the same wall ‘n windows.

Penelope

Penelope
By far, the best film I saw last year was Penelope with Christina Ricci and James McEvoy. This film was truly a delight, charming and funny; McEvoy proved himself to be one of the strongest calibre actors in our generation. This experience was surely accentuated by the good company I was with; people with an appreciation for good humour and aesthetics.

Oh, this was the theatre/lecture hall I saw it in.

A colour we won’t be seeing for a while.

After yesterday’s embarrassment I took a little more time in selecting my image today, I likened the posting of the same image twice (re-cropped or no) to the photoblog equivalent of incest. Thankfully I received little flogging in response to this, though it is, respectfully, some people’s opinions that, through the reposting of *similar* images, one may receive feedback and improve your work accordingly.
I personally believe that I need to challenge myself not just in composition, but in selection as well; if I’ve got three shots of essentially the same thing which, if any, is the best?

I’ll be in Ottawa this weekend, so I hope to meet some cool people if they’re willing.

Draught *Deja Vu*

Draught *Deja Vu*
Ah beer, the cause of, and solution to all of life’s problems.

My personal chronology of beer goes thusly:
Age 4: Finished empties from pool side parties – verdict: Delciious!
Age 14: Start drinking some Schlitz, cuz it was cheap, and malty – verdict: necessary to get drunkz
Age 16: Tired of getting wasted, I stop drinking beer citing “allergy” as my peer acceptable excuse. – verdict: [read: not] Allergic.
Age 19 to present: discover pubs and the delights held within; my association with ale has never been stronger. Kilkenny & Guiness rank among my favourites.

Edit: Apparently I’m setting a new standard in photoblogging by posting the same image twice. 🙁
