Flair; some have it some don’t. Compared to this my house looks like a cardboard box stacked up against the Sagrada Família.

Call me old-fashioned, but I still like the warm glow good ol’ energy-wastin’ bulbs produce. Sure, I have LED’s – SOMEWHERE – but we ain’t using ’em. Nope. I also like to leave the lights on in rooms that I’m not in, as well as using the Refrigerator to cool the house down in the […]

This is a test shot I did for a band shoot a few months back – it’s Eddie, one of my new friends from here in Ottawa. He was interested in the “process” (so was I since I hadn’t done it before.. SHHHH) so he volunteered to come along as my grip or assistant, or […]

This spot of light caught my eye because it just “appeared” on a staircase, during sunset, and I was facing West. Turns out the apartments across the street at that time of day, during that part of the year, just happened to catch the light and pointed it’s golden warmth downwards so I could find […]

I’m not the biggest Christmas fan, I get a bit moody and maybe I’m just too cynical for all the happy-go-lucky’s bouncing around this time of year. I like getting gifts for people, and I certainly like receiving – but it’s all the FUSS that bugs me. Mel’s quite the opposite, however, and imagine my […]

It’s been an interesting week. Maybe not so much for me, but for those in Mumbai, or even Wal-Marts and Toys R Us’, it certainly has been trying. My sympathies to those affected by these disgusting, and tragic events.

Makes me worry that the $3-grand I put into the garage roof in Toronto may not have been enough… structurally speaking.

And I’m broke already – it’s not even December!

Say Whaaaaaaat!? Also – Happy Thanksgiving to those in Americaland – send me some cool stuff for the Holiday’s aiight?

I want one – I can’t believe they don’t actually sell these. Plus? Who has a totally ordinary house in an Italian neighbourhood and then “wop” drops one of theses suckers on their frontage? Someone totally awesome, that’s who.

I’ve never seen as many garages in decay and disrepair as I have wandering my neighbourhood. If I was smart, I’d do a whole series on them.

It’s cold out – I do NOT want to take the camera outside, I don’t feel like my batteries will even last. I’m hoping to do a bit of a setup here at home, finally spend some time actually learning something about light. I have more than enough gear, most of which I break out […]

Vote for my picture of this doorway!(?) Or at least my blog…

I don’t think I’ve actually had one of these, y’know, “untitled”… though I may as well have considering some of the names I’ve chosen. Anyone out there have any suggestions for this image?

It’s great being in a new city – I see everything with new eyes. Walking around Toronto, enough, got me bored, I was overlooking details, ignoring things that at one point I may have found interesting. I’m also a bit more inspired here, there are a couple great reasons to take pictures all the time, […]

I am totally going to print this up and sell it as a limited print full of mood and moodiness and title it “Dows Mist” to moody EMO parents.

Yeah I just… I just can’t… yeah, no, no thank you, no.

Another image from Montréal last weekend. I was standing in the street taking these exposures when a guy in a car pulled up. Naturally I assumed I was going to get some sort of security beat down (because I had a tripod), but it turned out this guy had his Nikon with him and popped […]

Like I said yesterday, Mel wanted to shop. Retail therapy is very soothing for a woman (call me a misogynist? If I took you shopping, would you spend my money? That’s right, thought so, especially you, Barb.). I was also introduced to Simons for the first time, I’m sure anyone who’s even been near there […]

Mel and I (and Quinn) went to Montréal this weekend. At first I thought maybe a change of scene involved touristy things – exploring, photos, long walks – but I quickly realized that was what I liked to do. Mel wanted to shop, but thankfully (for me) she was up for my roam through old-Montréal […]

I am so lazy with my processing now. I loathe leaving Lightroom for Photoshop. Sure, when I do, I tend to be very happy with the results. But Lightroom is just so EAAAAASY. Speaking of lazy – why isn’t it the weekend yet? Vote for my photo!vote

I borrowed a rebel xt this weekend since the broken hand isn’t conducive to my normal setup (1DMKII w/ 24-70mm lens). It was a nice reprieve from the weight, but that’s the only thing I liked – I don’t miss the XT at all, changing ISO through a menu system, poor metering, and lazy autofocus […]
