Maybe yesterday was Remembrance Day, but today is the day I’ll have a photo from it. This image was the a-typical view of the ceremony in Ottawa. When in your nations capital, never underestimate peoples’ patriotism; show up early if you want to take photos. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat […]

Whose fine ass is that walking away with my 1D MKII? And how come that lens looks so good on it? Note: this photo was taken with the Famous, DDOI 10-22mm

So I was playing around with the camera at ISO 3200 – there sure is a lot of noise going on at that end of things. Still, from what I hear, I’m glad I have a Canon.

Remember in Mario you had the Boo’s (and baby-boo’s but not a-buggin-me-a-buggin you) that were scared and shy when you looked at them but came to sneak up on you when you looked the other way? That’s like me with the ladies… sneaky.

The streets just aren’t as safe as they used to be. I think it’s a matter of upbringing, nurture vs. nature – that sort of thing. I mean look at this shot, people, minding their own business – they can’t even skateboard without coming across a child so violent, so untamed, that it has to […]

I’m not like everyone else. I won’t miss Sam the Record Man, an iconic music shop on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto. Unlike most people, I did not get my first album there; it was at HMV – Beck’s Mellow Gold (and by album I mean CD). When I hit my teens and started to […]

I haven’t been so into taking the camera out this week, I mean, it’s been dark, I don’t want the hefty bag to wrinkle my shirts well before I get to work, and, well, my subjects are all the same. I’m not inspired to go out and walk around like I did a few months […]

This is my lil’ cousin, whom you’ve seen before. He’s actually started to remember me, which is kind of nice, since I really only see him a few times a year – not bad considering I have trouble remember what I did last week (and I’m me!). I’m finding I’m getting fewer comments*, is commenting […]

Damn you sun! Leaving me in the cold like this… or I suppose I should blame the earths rotational axis; the fact that our orbit not only takes us further away from the sun (and thus all my warmth) but also ever-so-slightly spins where I LIVE just that much farther away so I get more […]

This has been sitting in my archives since I posted this photo and I just discovered it over the weekend while desperately trying to find something worth posting. I like it; it’s end of the winter 2007, but fitting for the fall as well.Nobody will be the wiser.

I thought that walking down the train tracks would lead me to adventure, brotherhood, and an inevitable run-in with a dead body. Instead I was treated to puddles, burrs, and dog poop – none of which you will see here today.

Who Runs Boarder Town? Master Blaster!

The picnic is bar far my most under explored joy, well, maybe the Wildboyz DVD’s were my MOST under explored joy; but picnic’s are a close second. It’s probably systemic of city dwelling for me, and a strong case of apathy, where, when confronted with the option of packing a lunch and actually leaving home, I […]

I *heart* fall colours. In fact I’m a big fan of the weather altogether. I get to bust out my cool light jackets, and hooded sweatshirts. But it’s not so cool that I can’t show off my wicked triceps by wearing a Beefy-Tee. I believe those who benefit most from the fall, of course, are […]

Same day as yesterday’s post. These are the locks (lockes? Spelling help here…) at the base of the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. It’s nice to pop-off a series of photos you’re really happy with, sadly for me, they’re all very landscap-ish, and I’m loathe to be too repetitive around here.

I had another lovely weekend in Ottawa – the city is quite beautiful and has impressed me through the seasons. It somehow feels cleaner than Toronto; that could be because it is, though I’m currently quite biased. You can see the full crop of this Pano here:

What the hell happened to the sunrise? One day I wake up to birds chirping and the chinese lady in the park feeding them bread-crumbs, and the next there’s no more sun, no more sky, just dark… dark darkness… darkening.

This dudeA. Asked me to take his photoB. Wouldn’t tell me his nameC. was fighting trees and posts with his shoes (pictured) Please head down to Queen St. East and Victoria St. to give him some money.

Delightful festive gourds – can’t bring myself to buy them – decoration that expires. That’s like buying a pumpkin you can’t turn into pie (or a Jack-O-Lantern), or milk for display in your front foyer during summer.

This weekend Dan treated himself to a large breakfast. He then treated himself to a “snack” of microwave chicken wings (which were gross smelling). And finally, for dinner, I treated him to my mom’s famous ribs. Lucky guy, though he should watch his cholesterol.

Raissa’s been kind enough to attend an early morning meeting with me downtown today – I’ll be carefuly scrutinized under her watchful… vengeful, spiteful.. judging (EVER JUDGING!) eye.

Girl, walk like you’ve got nothin’ to lose.

See that exif data on the right there? See that new Camera? Yeah baby – that’s right – pappa’s got a brand new bag.
