I think parenthood means you don’t get weekends – or evenings.

Every minute of free time Mel and I have is spent either going to the Hospital, spending time with Quinn, shopping for the house (an arduous weekly task that always ends in tragedy) and no super-fun computer time for JVL.

I wouldn’t trade it though; things are pretty awesome.

Montréal is awesome. This was my first trip to the great city and I loved it.

My buddy Rainbow once told me that Montréal had the hottest girls in Canada – he’s likely right – though these things no longer phase me, I was just told he was right.

This was also the first time since moving that I had a chance to actually roam, take some random photos of people and things so I’m excited to look and see if I remember how to expose properly (still can’t quite figure proper composition) – maybe someday Brad will teach me his ways… his sexy, sexy ways.

Oh, and the Exif data on the side’s a bit messed up because this was a hand-held, 3-stop HDR – processed in Photomatix Pro 3.

So one of the most startling changes that I have to get used to by moving out of Toronto is the presence of blue skies and clouds. T.O. has a bit of a “smog” problem, and what that ends up doing is painting the skies with a thin veil of mist like yellow haze. Ottawa, to my knowledge, doesn’t seem to have this problem.
From my back yard I stare up, looking at the sky, the clouds, the sunsets (you miss those in Toronto too because of all the high-rises, hills, and… smog).

It’s nice out here.

Edit: As requested by the Rza, a colour version available here.

See, Mel hates this photo, and there’s a bit of apprehension as I post it, but I think it’s a really good reflection of her eldest son Owen.

He’s always leaning into the camera, making goofy faces and, yeah, I’ve really accentuated his features here, the puffs under his eyes, his freckles, but fundamentally it’s all there, it’s all his, I just used some Photoshopz to make it look a little different [Read: Fad]. What are your thoughts?

Meatballs

Meatballs
This is Ryan, one of my new co-workers. Last Friday, being the spot-on beutiful day that it was, we all made the trip to the Prescott on Preston street in Ottawa for some drinks and messy meatball sandwiches.

I “chickened” out though, and opted for fingers and fries as a safety.
