As an agreement of sale on our new house, the front yard perennials were not included as chattel with purchase. So a few weeks ago the previous owners came and dug out all of the perennials – that’s right – everything that was in the yard. So we had a big ugly maple tree, some […]

Don’t you hate it when you go out and someone is wearing the same outfit as you? It’s worse when they look better wearing it too!

So yesterday’s and today’s post aren’t the result of any photoshop Voodoo but the experimental wanderings of me and my new Lensbaby only fitting that I get a few new babies in, roughly, the same month. This one is shot at the shallowest DOF f/2.8 and it’s pretty soft as well as one of my […]

Okay, so let me see if I can give everyone an update via the blog (if anyone still visits this). April – Moved to Ottawa, basically right into the Hospital, Mel was admitted on a Friday, and the following Friday Quinn was born (to thunderous applause). The Monday after Quinn fell out I started work […]

Montréal is awesome. This was my first trip to the great city and I loved it. My buddy Rainbow once told me that Montréal had the hottest girls in Canada – he’s likely right – though these things no longer phase me, I was just told he was right. This was also the first time […]

Every time we stop at the The Log Cabin Restaurant I end up hopping off of the bus (if there’s light out) and snapping a few pictures in and around the parking lot. There’s really nowhere else to go around here, and if I venture too far I risk my bus taking off without me – […]

Sorry about the lack of posts around here lately – I’ve taken a cue from Thinsite and refrained from posting when I didn’t have the shots/time. To motivate myself, plus get ready for some upcoming projects, I purchased the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L and an off-camera shoe-cord for my flash. The latter will take some […]

Just messing around with shots from last June and Iceland, didn’t really have the power of CS3’s photo-stitch feature then so didn’t think about any pano’s at the time – still need to take something proper in naught-eight

An archive dive from my June trip to Iceland – playing around with LAB colour per Chromasia’s tutorial. What you’re seeing here is close to the top of the mountain I climbed (you can see the broken rock fragments I had to scramble up with my crumpler bag in tow) looking out over a secondary […]

Yard cleaning has been made difficult this year. See, usually things happen progressively – the seasons change – Leaves fall from trees, people rake leaves, snow falls = winter joy. This year, the snow fell, leaves fell on top of that, more snow came, iced over, and all I’ve got are a bunch of frozen […]

Going through my Iceland photos I realize that I wish I hadn’t under exposed EVERYTHING. It really is a pity – it was mostly overcast during the trip and I typically underexpose by a third of a stop anyways – so everything was just dark and moody – like me, or Marilyn Manson.

I suppose on day’s you’ve been at work for 12 hours, haven’t seen the sun, and the sky pelted ice in your face as you walked into the world at 5:30AM you’re allowed to archive dig a bit. I figure a photo from Iceland (sans ice) would be appropriate. Iceland A land of less ice… […]

This has been sitting in my archives since I posted this photo and I just discovered it over the weekend while desperately trying to find something worth posting. I like it; it’s end of the winter 2007, but fitting for the fall as well.Nobody will be the wiser.

The picnic is bar far my most under explored joy, well, maybe the Wildboyz DVD’s were my MOST under explored joy; but picnic’s are a close second. It’s probably systemic of city dwelling for me, and a strong case of apathy, where, when confronted with the option of packing a lunch and actually leaving home, I […]

I *heart* fall colours. In fact I’m a big fan of the weather altogether. I get to bust out my cool light jackets, and hooded sweatshirts. But it’s not so cool that I can’t show off my wicked triceps by wearing a Beefy-Tee. I believe those who benefit most from the fall, of course, are […]

Same day as yesterday’s post. These are the locks (lockes? Spelling help here…) at the base of the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. It’s nice to pop-off a series of photos you’re really happy with, sadly for me, they’re all very landscap-ish, and I’m loathe to be too repetitive around here.

I had another lovely weekend in Ottawa – the city is quite beautiful and has impressed me through the seasons. It somehow feels cleaner than Toronto; that could be because it is, though I’m currently quite biased. You can see the full crop of this Pano here:

What the hell happened to the sunrise? One day I wake up to birds chirping and the chinese lady in the park feeding them bread-crumbs, and the next there’s no more sun, no more sky, just dark… dark darkness… darkening.

Am I tripping out, or is it Friday already? I’m having Dinner with the ‘rents this weekend (Uli & Paul), and heading to KW for Danielle’s Birthday; but that’s about it – I hope everyone else has a good Thanksgiving, if that’s the sort of thing you recognize.

I went with a select group of individuals (guess who, guess!) to the Gatineau’s this past weekend hoping to catch some fall colours. While colour was present, I wouldn’t say it was really out in “full glory” – not a lot of splendour in beige-yellow trees. However, there were some good photos taken, a fantastic […]

I always say these things look like vagina’s; and this is no exception. However I’m interested to see what others may see in this photo-Rorschach.

Man, a cold popped up on me yesterday that, seemingly, came from nowhere. In retrospect I suppose I had a tickled throat and a sniffly nose for about a week now; I had basically ignored them as something that would go away, change of temperature, late summer allergy or something like that. So I sadly […]

Part processing apathy, part archive-digging lethargy, you get the florb today.
