Pretty In Pink

Pretty In Pink
Don’t you hate it when you go out and someone is wearing the same outfit as you?

It’s worse when they look better wearing it too!

I don’t know if people usually get presents for the Victoria Day weekend, but Mel and I did; Quinn’s home and resting on my chest as I type this. We’re having baby/daddy computer time.

I love Orange pop with my Pizza – Brio or a Coke are okay too, but nothing quite goes with a strip of “Za” like a cool can of Orange Crush or C-Plus. Does anyone else have a favourite drink to have with something they eat? I know for Brad it’s beer Cherry Coke, or for Attila it’s beer, but maybe you like Milk, or Juice, or something I don’t even know about.

Of course we all know what Quinn likes to drink ;D

So yesterday’s and today’s post aren’t the result of any photoshop Voodoo but the experimental wanderings of me and my new Lensbaby only fitting that I get a few new babies in, roughly, the same month.

This one is shot at the shallowest DOF f/2.8 and it’s pretty soft as well as one of my first shots with the lens. I’ve seen some pretty decent, much subtler stuff done with it, but I think it’s the extreme amount of blur and messing around the central focus of the subject that I enjoy most. It’ll take a lot more getting used to for sure, but for now it’s a great way to look at all the old things in a new way.

A quick link to an album I created with a few more flower shots from the other day

Month of May

Month of May
Okay, so let me see if I can give everyone an update via the blog (if anyone still visits this).

April – Moved to Ottawa, basically right into the Hospital, Mel was admitted on a Friday, and the following Friday Quinn was born (to thunderous applause).

The Monday after Quinn fell out I started work at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation; a fine group of people (of which I am one) trying to do the right thing for Cancer patients and survivors in Eastern Ontario. The most noticeable change for me is a 30 minute walk to work instead of a 2 hour commute on the TTC – and a smaller group where I’m the one with expertise (who knew!?)

Quinn being a Preemie (30 weeks 2 days) is to stay in the hospital until he’s doing well enough; which he mostly has been – we may get him home in as early as ten days!

Through all of this we got a new/old house – with lots of work needed. Despite being newly renovated a lot of the renovation was half-assed and we do lack certain pieces of key furniture (bed, couch, Dining table, Big Screen TV*). Neither of us drive, and we do spend every day with Quinn, so it’s a bit of juggling to get things done, but we’re managing with very few setbacks.

Leave me a comment or drop me an E-mail, I’ll get back to everyone in time, but my focus is, of course, the family.

*Just kidding Mel!
